Mars Headquarters

Welcome to 1999

It's 2011 and this page is written using HTML5.

In 1999, I was 16 years old. HTML 4.0 had just come out, but I hadn't heard of it. I had a book called Learn HTML 3.2 in 24 Hours and I intended to use it. Thus my first website. Looking back, I can easily say "It's really awful." but I remember the accomplishment I felt when I made it. All I had to do was type a few lines of markup, and all that you see was transformed from plain text into the … delight you see today. It was a magical experience.

I really liked three things (judging by the content): Star Trek, Red Dwarf, and Sim City. That's still true, but now I like more than three things.

So here's Mars Headquarters. I went through all pages and tried to fix the links where I could, but broken ones should be expected. Links to files I couldn't find have been deleted, but are still visible. (You know, since this is a piece of history.) Oh yeah, and that e-mail address doesn't work, and hasn't for a really long time. Kpac—wow.

As a bonus, I found what appears to be my brother's first (and to my knowledge, only) site. It's really something.
